In this issue Selling Power introduces you to 150 top Websites that can help you get more done in less time. I personally visited every single one of these sites and bookmarked dozens of them to help me be more productive. Here are a few examples:
Want to shop for a cell phone? Go to point.com and find 4,000 service plans in 50 markets. You also can compare more than 200 phones. Spend less time shopping; get the best phone and the best plan. The information on the site persuaded me to switch carriers at a saving of $1,000 per year.
Want to buy a printer, a digital camera or a DVD player? Go to dealtime.com. You’ll find an online comparison-shopping Website that will show you the best deals available online. This site does not sell, but finds the best deals posted on other Websites, including prices and availability. This site helped me save $150 on a laser printer.
Want to plan a sales meeting? Go to plansoft.com. This site will give you access to 9,200 meeting facilities and 14,000 meeting industry vendors. The site also posts the low-season deals available at many facilities.
Need to find new trade shows for your products or services? Go to tsnn.com. The Trade Show News Network helps you locate trade shows by searching across industries, cities and dates. You can also search for exhibitors to find out where and when they plan to exhibit. The information is also useful when booking a hotel room. Next time a hotel asks you, “Are you with any convention or meeting?” you’ll know exactly what to say to get the discount.
There are a number of sites that offer Web-enabled CRM solutions. These sites allow you to enter customer records, share files among work groups and communicate with customers. At the same time, these sites add bells and whistles that are truly astonishing. For example, Interact.com users can set up personal Websites for their customers: salesrepsonline.com users can get into a Tom Hopkins seminar online; and salesforce.com users can get the latest selling tips.
For those who are looking for a useful freebie, go to salespp.com.au, an Australian Website that offers a free screensaver with 100 selling tips, beautiful photography and motivational messages. You want to create your own background images? Go to webshots.com where you can select pictures of hot air balloons, snowboarding scenes or mountain climbing shots. Like it or not, the profession of selling is moving office desk, telephone, fax machine and software programs onto the Web. The Internet will affect conservative salespeople the most. It is a productivity zone where nobody can coast, where few are allowed to boast and many will become toast.
