Just about everyone of course. While you await that phone call asking you to appear on the hit ABC show, you can tap into the show’s wild popularity – and make your next meeting memorable. How? At the “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire-Play It!” attraction opened in Walt Disney World Resort this spring. The new attraction, located at the Disney-MGM Studios, offers another unusual group-event opportunity. The live show plays out on a recreated version of the show’s high-tech set, with its hot seat and theatrical lighting. Guests play for points and can snag prizes, with an audience as big as 600 encouraged to take part in the interactive experience.
Says George Aguel, senior vice president/general manager of Sales, Services and Disney Vacation Development, “With this new attraction, we’ve captured all the elements that have made the television show so wildly successful. We’ve also created a group experience that’s destined to be as popular as its namesake. It’s an exciting and unique addition to Disney’s portfolio of themed events.” The show that debuted in fall 1999 remains among the top five shows in prime-time TV.
Listen up meeting planners! Disney can customize the show with specially-designed logos, prizes and “Phone A Friend” lifelines, even custom designing the host script, event signs and game questions. The resort can even produce a one-of-a-kind themed evening. Fresh from game-show thrills on Disney-MGM’s soundstages two and three, participants can exit to the outdoors to discover a back lot setting for an exclusive party, replete with disc jockey, street performers and spectacular nighttime shows: “Fantasmic!” or “Sorcery In The Sky.”
For meetings of virtually any scale, Disney-MGM and the other three Disney theme parks provide dozens of themed environments. For info about planning a meeting or event at Walt Disney World Resort, visit www.disneymeetings.com or call 321-939-7221.
