Three Things You Can Do to Have a Terrific Day

By Gerhard Gschwandtner

I don’t know about you, but my intention is to bring a massive amount of positivity to everything I do, each and every day.

If you’re in sales, positivity can help you achieve real results. Positive people are better able to make authentic connections with prospects and customers. They feel more open, receptive, and generous. They don’t just think about what they want. They focus on how to help others achieve their goals. In doing so, what they want comes to them easily.

When you’re in this zone, you’ve reached a peak performance mindset. This is a state of mind where you are not being held back by any obstacles or internal negative thoughts. You are open to possibilities, and you have an enhanced capability to tap into your own powers of creativity. At the end of the day, you’ll feel happier, more productive, and less exhausted.

Sounds like a great experience, right? It is! This is what I call a peak performance mindset.

You can establish a peak performance mindset by setting daily intentions. Your brain deals with more than 11 million inputs each day – so you don’t want to waste your time reacting to everything. The good news is you can actually design your mindset each day before you get up, so you can pursue more opportunities that will yield results for you and sidestep distractions.

Here are three steps you can take immediately to set yourself up for a peak performance mindset.

Step #1: Set a morning intention to bring a massive amount of positivity to everything you do. Tell yourself the following things:

  • “I will be positive about myself, my talents, and my abilities.”
  • “I will think positive thoughts.”
  • “I will respond to people with an open mind and let my curiosity be my guide.”

Step #2: Write the word “attitude” on your bathroom mirror. Then:

  • Look in the bathroom mirror and smile.
  • Hold that smile for 30 seconds.
  • Set an intention to share your smile when you’re out in the world. When someone returns your smile, you’ll know you’re making a difference!

Step #3: On your morning commute, recite positive affirmations to create positive energy. Here are some examples:

  • “I believe in my ability to create great value for my customers.”
  • “I believe in my talents.”
  • “I believe in myself.”
  • “I believe in my ability to generate positive feelings in other people.”

If you follow these three steps every day for at least one month, you’ll feel happier, more productive, and less exhausted at the end of the day. You’ll also set yourself up for better interactions with customers throughout your day.
