PeopleMaps: Make Faster Connections with Prospects

By Geoffrey James

PeopleMaps offers users a new way to uncover connecting paths to new people and companies. The application automatically searches contacts from Outlook, LinkedIn, Facebook, Yahoo, and Gmail accounts, and compares those contacts with data pulled from the Internet and various premium data sources. The paths reveal, in graphs, how you are connected to each of your prospects, which makes it even easier to find ways to get introductions or referrals.

When driven out of Salesforce, the application uncovers connections through your base of customers and contacts. It then instantly analyzes and ranks sales prospects based on the strength of personal and professional connections so that sales professionals can better focus on the most likely prospects. This prioritization enables salespeople to shorten the sales cycle, close sales faster, and drive revenue quicker.

What makes the PeopleMaps application stand out? First, it’s focused on relationships rather than businesses. After all, selling is about building relationships, which often span multiple organizations and jobs.

Second, the social network is represented by a graph, which gives you an easy way to assess your data. Without this kind of visual cue, it’s sometimes difficult to envision how people know one another.

Third, this application integrates very well into the Salesforce environment. The vendor has provided a very simple, four-page starter guide that explains exactly how to add the application to Salesforce and make it available to sales teams.
