When you practice gratitude, the reward is often more gratitude. In other words, your generosity in showing gratitude may mark you as a gracious person and, in turn, earn you a position of greater esteem with colleagues and customers. Therefore, if we need the cooperation of others to succeed, it makes sense to inspire that cooperation. Whether or not you receive any tangible benefit, you'll still feel better when you acknowledge and praise the effort of others.
