Facing reality takes a lot of courage, but once we accept what is (and let go of illusions of what is not), hope begins to grow. If you've lost hope following a setback and you get stuck in a low for an extended period of time, seek help in whatever form has worked for you in the past. As James Baldwin wrote, "Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced."
